Edgar Aderman

NIAGARA, Wis. - Edgar Aderman, 87, of Niagara, passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.

He was born on April 27, 1923, in Daggett, son of the late Carl and Floy (Bates) Aderman.

Edgar graduated high school in Daggett, and as a young man joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). He later served his country in the United States Coast Guard on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, during World War II. Edgar then moved to Niagara and began working for Kimberly Clark, later Pentair paper mill where he remained until he retired from his timekeeping position in 1987.

He married Shirley Brown on June 9, 1951, in Niagara, and lived there until 1986, when they retired to their home at Hi-Lo Acres of Pembine. Edgar and Shirley remained happily married for 57 years until her death in 2009. He was an active member of the board of directors of the Niagara Area Credit Union, the American Legion Cretton-Tutas Post 136 of Niagara, and a respected member of the community. He also served as a building inspector for the city of Niagara.

Edgar was an avid hunter, sportsman, and traveler. After Edgar and Shirley's retirement, they traveled throughout the United States and Caribbean. An exceptional man who instilled his work ethic, values, and common sense in his children, and their children, Edgar was always there for anyone who needed him for anything.

Edgar is survived by one son, Daniel (Lori) Aderman of Niagara; three daughters, Lynne (Chuck) Dahlen of Siren, Wis., Juli (Jim) Hulce of Niagara, Nancy (Rennie) Bobb of Wake Forest, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, Amber (Sean) Peterson, Taylor (Sarah) Dahlen, Michael Aderman, Ashley Aderman, Gordon (Laura) Hulce, Brian (Sarah Brown) Hulce, Robert (Susan) Hulce, Kara Hulce, Ravae Bobb, and Quintyn Bobb; four great-grandchildren, Alison and Logan Hulce, Korbyn Brown and Braxtyn Hulce; one sister, Edith Adams of Menominee; and three sisters-in-law, Frances Aderman of Niagara, Theresa Hendricks of Green Bay, Wis. and Eloise Robinson of Neenah, Wis.; and brother-in-law, Jim Robinson of Neenah.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Oscar, Loren (Biz), Virgil (Red) and Edwin Aderman, his twin, and two sisters, Leonella (Nell) Burie, and Isabelle (Izzy) Bettie.

Edgar was blessed with a wonderful life, a loving and close family, and many, many good friends. He will be missed and fondly remembered by all.
The family would love to extend a grateful thank you to the staff at Maryhill Manor for taking such exemplary and compassionate care of Edgar during his various stays.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home Niagara Chapel.

The American Legion Cretton-Tutas Post 136 of Niagara will coinduct a veteran's memorial service at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Larry Canavera will officiate.

Burial will be in the Niagara Cemetery in Niagara.
