John Palmer officiating. He was a switch man with the Norfolk and Western Railroad (formerly the Wabash Cannonball) for many years before he retired in 1965. Mr. Yocum was born on Dec. 28, 1902 in Effingham, Ill. and had lived in Allen Park, Detroit, before moving to his present address four years ago. He was a member of the Allen Park Presbyterian Church and the Findlater Masonic Lodge 475 in Detroit, where he was a 32nd degree Mason. Vivian Anderson, whom he married on Dec. 24, 1924, preceded him in death on July 8, 1970. He married the former Vera Woods on June 12, 1971. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Maxine) Hackett of LeRoy; a son, Harley Yocum of Detroit; a sister, Mrs. William (Mary) Miller of Quincy; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death. A Masonic memorial service will be given by the Jonesville LaFayette Lodge 16 F & AM at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
